Reliability since 2005 the Master Primes are incredibly fast, with the entire set consistently having an iris of T 1.3. Due to their reduced flare, high resolution, high contrast, and overall clean look the Master Primes lend themselves towards VFX shooting.

β€œThe lack of fringing and chromatic aberrations make these lenses a preference for many VFX and 3D integration situations.”

Even though the Master Primes are 19 years old they are still being used on many large scale films. Recently they have been used by Martin Scorsese in his heavily Academy nominated The Irishman. Roger Deakins has also used them numerous times with his collaborations with the Cohen brothers. Just recently they were used on the best picture winner Everything Everywhere All At Once.
