A collection of seven camera lenses of various sizes and types laid out on a metallic surface.

The Cooke Speed Panchros have been around since the mid 20th century. Having been essential lenses in the making of classics like Casablanca and The Sound of Music. Like all other Cooke lenses, these offer a vintage silky “Cooke” look including a creamy bokeh and accurate color reproduction.

This lens set is also color matched with the Cooke S8 lens set and the Cooke S7. The Speed Panchro series has incredibly strong close focus, with the majority of the set having a close focus of under one foot. The P+S Technik rehouseings that we have for this set is also incredibly light and with a uniform 80mm front element, making lens changes that much easier.

Even though the Speed Panchros have been around for so long, they are still being frequently used today. Just this past year they were used on Dev Patels Debut film Monkey Man. And seem to be consistently used by Rodrigo Prieto.

Oscar Nominated Cinematographer, Jarin Blaschke on using the Cooke Panchro Series for the 2015 film The Witch

“The Series 2 still had a beautiful astigmatic swirl to the backgrounds and a pleasant vignetting. Bright sources glowed for a little atmosphere, but not too much to destroy the image. And there was no chromatic aberrations that I could see.”
