Purpose-designed for large format motion picture imaging, BLACKWING7 lenses from TRIBE7 represent an entirely new range of tuned optics for contemporary film makers to use within their creative story telling. This is a very reliable set to use. First off they are all incredibly fast, With every lens having a T stop under 2, making them perfect to use in low light scenarios. Additionally, they are all the same size and share the same front diameter, this makes lens changes incredibly easy during production. Lastly, they are very light and are all under 4 lbs. Not only will these lenses give you the look that you want but will be easy to use.

BLACKWING7 optics exhibit unique imaging properties which arise from the introduction of controlled distortion during the development and manufacturing processes. This distortion is modular and allows a level of tuneability over key parameters, these being: contrast, sharpness, spherical aberration, field curvature, flare, and edge halation. This control gives the DP so much more control of many of the characteristics of the lens and allows them to tailor them to their project.

T-Tuning: The 57-T has a high level of edge halation wide open, and a smooth, soft image with a creamy overall look as the lens is stopped down. The 57-T has a vibrant lenticular flare characteristic similar to the 37-T, and is a hero focal length for 65mm format capture.

These Lenses were made in part by Oscar Nominated cinematographer Bradford Young. These lenses have been on movies as recent as the Oscar Winning American Fiction
